Michael Bergin was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, and grew up in the
small town of Naugatuck. While attending the University of Connecticut
he supported himself being a waiter and working other odd jobs. During
his sophomore year, he signed on with the Clark Modelling Agency. With
his Junior year of college coming to a close, Michael found that his
commute to New York was becoming quite a habit and his modelling jobs
were becoming bigger and bigger. In the fall, he returned back to the
University of Connecticut, and finished his Senior year. Michael
graduated with a degree in Business Marketing, and decided to move to
New York permanently.
Overflowing with work, Michael found himself walking the runways of New York, Paris, and Milan. He wore designer clothes from amazing people such as, Valentino, Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, and Donna Karan.
TV commericals and print ads soon followed for such companies as, Kelloggs, Bacardi Rum, L'Oreal, Maybelline, Coty, Perry Ellis, and Liz Claiborne.
Bergin soon found himself replacing Marky Mark as the new Calvin Klein underwear model. With no assignments coming his way Michael was without work for more than six months. This is when he decided to move toward acting. He started working on such TV programs as E!, Entertainment Tonight, and VH1 as a correspondent. He later found himself as a recurring character on the short-lived CBS soap, Central Park West.
Bergin soon found his feet landing in the sand as part of Baywatch. Michael plays the role of Jack "JD" Darius, along side such Baywatch elite as David Hasselhoff and Yasmine Bleeth.
