Blue eyed, "down to earth" David Chokachi was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Even at an early age, David was facinated and interested in TV. He and his brother would often create their own TV shows and movies with their parent’s video camera. David was very studious in school, as well being athletic-- playing football, water sports, lacrosse, and wrestling. As a result, he was granted a scholarship to New England's highly competitive Bates College. David earned a degree in political science.
In 1996, David won the part of "Cody Madison", an Olympic hopeful, whom Stephanie Holden (Alexandra Paul) takes under her wing. David’s other works include the motion picture “Blown Away”, "Bad to The Bone," an ABC Movie-of-the-Week, and “The Unspeakable”. David’s most recent movie is “12 Bucks” (with Baywatch pal Alexandra Paul as his wife), where he gets to expand his acting playing an abusive husband.
David has also made guest appearances on ABC's 'Sabrina the teenaged Witch' (1996-1997 season) as a hunky ski instructor, and as an attractive businessman on NBC's 'Suddenly Susan' (1997-1998 season). David has been selected for 'People Magazine's' '50 Most Beautiful people' in 1997. David has appeared on the cover of 'Porthole' travel magazine (Nov/Dec issue) with other cast-mates (Hasselhoff, Nolin, Jackson, Electra and D'Errico) and YM.
Off camera, David Chokachi is very committed to environmental causes. He belongs such groups as The American Oceans Campaign and the Surfrider Foundation. David had developed this interest during his junior year at Bates when he was one of a select group of students accepted into the Semester at Sea Program. He had a chance to live abroad a sailing vessel, traveling to primarily Third World countries, including Egypt, India, Turkey, Malaysia and China. The voyage offered a first-hand view of the deterioration of the planet on a global scale. Till today, David continues to dedicate a lot of his time to environmental causes.
David reprises his role as Cody Madison again this year for Baywatch’s 9th season.
